Sarah & Sebastian Launch Their New Bridal Collection, MARINE

There is a rare form of jewellery that doesn’t merely gleam but talk. It speaks of abiding bond, of abiding vows, of fierce, immutable vitality of love. And now, cult favourite Australian jeweller Sarah & Sebastian, whose name is more often than not linked to whisper-light chain, indestructible bracelets, and visionary piercing, bursts into the bridal and celebration category with the launch of MARINE, a new range that is eloquent, just like the sea that served as breeding ground for this new creation.

We’ve long loved the brand for its intricately detailed designs – items that seem more the property of the wearer than of a season – and for having delicate but potent offerings. Whether you’ve waited for a soldered bracelet sitting in their Sydney studio or dressed yourself with a lone freshwater pearl that catches the light at precisely the right moment, you know the emotional weight that Sarah & Sebastian pieces possess.
Co-founder and creative director Sarah Gittoes describes its genesis not from a studio, but under the sea, deep within Tasmania’s giant kelp forests. “I learned that kelp anchors during storms – even dislodging boulders with the vigour of its hold. This was like our relationship with our partners: sustainable, evolving, and closely entwined.” That ethos carries through the design ideology of MARINE. Cast at their Sydney workshop and set with carefully selected stones – sapphires, peridots, Australian natural diamonds – the rings are crafted to the stone. No two are the same. No two loves are either.
Its settings are reminiscent of flowing golden kelp, a tribute to nature’s determination and beauty. GemSTONE forms range from the new Asscher and Cushion through the timeless Oval and Pear, all of which are reflections of character, inclination, and poetry. Even the rings, styled in unadorned or diamond-set finishes, are subtle but nevertheless historic.
Because when you know, as they say… dive in.
