Whether you’re planning a large sit-down reception for several hundred guests or a more intimate gathering, Dockside has flexible room configurations—from the Darling Room to the Cockle Bay Rooms—and spaces that can be combined to suit your guest list and style. 

Their “Deluxe Wedding Package” includes lots of thoughtful inclusions: canapés on arrival, a full three-course alternate-serve menu, a generous beverage package, white Tiffany chairs, a dance floor, décor pieces like chandeliers and candle centrepieces, and even details like printed menus and placement of bonbonnières. 

You also get excellent photo opportunities: the terrace, water views, even a spiral staircase outside the venue. 

Service is a strong point: they provide a private bridal room, experienced wedding coordinators, and the venue is well-accessed (parking nearby, easy walk from hotels) which helps reduce guest-logistics stress. 

What to Consider

  • Cost & Minimums: Being a premium harbour-front venue with lots of inclusions, it comes at a higher price point. Make sure you clarify exactly what’s included (e.g. alcohol tiers, décor, staff) so there are no surprises. 

  • Venue Hire Time: The deluxe package gives you ~5.5 hours of hire. If you want more time (for photos, extended speeches, late dancing) you may need to budget for extra time or select a higher-tier package. 

  • Capacity vs Flow: For very large guest numbers (especially for seated dinners and dancing), you’ll want to ensure that the configuration of rooms, dance floor, and flow between indoor/outdoor works well. With balconies and terraces, flow is strong—but layout matters. 

  • Weather & Views: Outdoors and terrace spaces are beautiful, but exposed. Rain or wind might impact comfort and photos, so ensure there are good wet-weather backup options. Also, for harbour views, timing (sunset etc.) will affect lighting.

  • Vendor / Styling Limits: While there are many inclusions, sometimes external vendors (styling/florals/cake etc.) may have restrictions or require coordination fees—check in advance.

It’s particularly strong if you prioritize venue design, views, guest experience, and have a medium-to-large guest list. If you do choose it, planning ahead (tours, seeing sample setups, confirming all inclusions) will help you make the most of what they offer.
